Our Story
A Mission Born From Service
Volunteers for Public Service (VPS) began with a simple belief: no one should have to face hunger or hardship alone.

What started as a small group of friends volunteering at local food pantries quickly revealed a much larger challenge. While many organizations were working tirelessly to feed families, countless smaller programs lacked the resources, transportation, and connections needed to access large-scale food donations. Perfectly good food and essential supplies were being wasted while communities continued to struggle.
Rather than accepting the gap, we chose to become part of the solution.​
​​We began by collecting carloads of donated food and delivering them directly to local pantries. As partnerships grew and community support expanded, so did our ability to serve.
Today, Volunteers for Public Service coordinates truckloads of food and essential resources, partnering with businesses, manufacturers, food banks, schools, nonprofits, and community organizations to ensure surplus products reach the people who need them most.
